Description
William B Pond Recreation Area is located in Carmichael, California. I hiked along the trail that follows the American River and from one hilly point I spotted a man on a small boat out in the pond area. I have no idea what he is pointing at. There was no one around him either which makes it more mysterious. I guess I’ll never know why he was pointing but the pond was scenic so I painted it. While walking on the trail past the pond, I also spotted a coyote that was hunting. That will be painting #341.
This Recreation Area was named after the first Regional Parks Director, William B. Pond. Anglers and nature lovers will find much to do at William B. Pond. A large, man-made fishing pond stocked with trout and catfish and home to bass, bluegill and tule perch will excite fishing enthusiasts. It’s a coincidence that the park has a notable pond but it is not related to origin of Pond in the park name.
This 15” X 22” watercolor painting was done on Bee, 140 lb, cold press watercolor paper.
