Description
Dry Creek is the main focus of the painting, however you can make out the faint bridge railings in the background through the trees. That is the Walerga Road bridge crossing over Dry Creek which is historically insignificant. Dry Creek fills with enough water in the rainy season to periodically flood the bridge level and close the road which affects traffic between Antelope and Roseville,California. There is a proposal to replace that bridge for $28,000,000 so it meets current standards and be flood proof. The area is rapidly growing and an unreliable two lane road isn’t going to cut it.
That area of Dry Creek is part of a park and short trail system. The City of Roseville is looking into expanding that Dry Creek trail to ultimately connect with other trails in the Greater Placer County and Sacramento Region.
This 15” X 22” watercolor painting was done on Arches, rough, 140 lb paper.
