Description
While dining at a newly opened restaurant in Roseville, California, I spotted an unusual item on the menu, frozen egg custard milkshake. I ordered the chocolate almond coconut. When it was put on the table, I thought it looked rich, colorful, and inviting, enough to make a painting out of it. By the way the milkshake was every bit as delicious as it looks.
Using egg custard reduces the fat and sugar content significantly. I tried looking for this type of egg custard dessert after this experience and it really is not that common. You can find a few expensive little packages produce by odd ice cream makers in select supermarkets, but it's just not the same.
This particular restaurant has two other locations, one in Sacramento and another in West Sacramento, California.
This watercolor painting was done on a full sheet, 22" X 30", of Arches, rough, 300 lb watercolor paper.
