Description
I was at Roseville's Downtown area and I looked back down the tracks toward the train yard to get this painting idea. I noticed the way the blue sky reflected off the top of the tracks and rusty metallic look of the rail cars and tracks..
I titled the painting Roseville Train Yard but after some research the proper name is the J.R. Davis Yard owned by Union Pacific. It first opened in 1906. This is the largest train yard on the West Coast and is capable of repairing a damaged rail car in one day. Approximately 98 percent of all traffic in Northern California moves through the Davis Yard.
This watercolor was done on a full sheet of watercolor paper, 22" X 30." Framed it is 28" X 36."
