Our spiral notebooks are 6" x 8" in size and include 120 pages which are lined on both sides. The artwork is printed on the front cover which is made of thick paper stock, and the back cover is medium gray in color. The inside of the back cover includes a pocket for storing extra paper and pens.

As I was hiking on a trail in the William B Pond Recreation Area in Carmichael, California I spotted a coyote hunting nearby. I saw the coyote disappear from the parallel trail so I tried to maneuver around the area to get a photo. Then I heard two people talking loudly as they rode their bicycles on the trail coming toward me. I knew the coyote would make a U-turn to flee so I set my camera on an open spot where he would appear briefly. Just as I saw a flash of fur for an instant I clicked the shutter. Luckily I caught a good reference image for this watercolor painting before he vanished into the brush.
This 15” X 22” watercolor painting was done on Arches, rough, 140 lb paper.
My search to find my biological family was the genesis of my journey into the world of art. When I finally found my birth family, at the age of 40, I was plunged into a new and very different family. On one occasion while talking with the father I had never known, I discovered that my great uncle was the renowned watercolorist Dong Kingman. Fatefully discovering a cheap watercolor paint set, and intrigued by my relationship with Kingman, I wondered if I had inherited any of his talent. This lingering question spurred me into trying to paint. My first challenge was deciding what subjects I would paint.
