The Deli across the street from Union Pacific Railroad's Roseville engine facility is aptly named the Roundhouse Deli. In 1908, the railroad moved its operation to this location in Roseville, California, and I’m sure it wasn’t long after that this structure was built. The building eventually served as a beanery for many years before the Deli business began. The Roundhouse Deli with the tiny dining area has been featured several times on the TV show, “Good Day Sacramento.” Railroad workers and locals enjoy the cuisine which includes their signature special, Tri-tip Taco. Parked in front of the Deli on the street is a large smoker BBQ on wheels. The owner smokes his famous tri-tip tacos every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.

My search to find my biological family was the genesis of my journey into the world of art. When I finally found my birth family, at the age of 40, I was plunged into a new and very different family. On one occasion while talking with the father I had never known, I discovered that my great uncle was the renowned watercolorist Dong Kingman. Fatefully discovering a cheap watercolor paint set, and intrigued by my relationship with Kingman, I wondered if I had inherited any of his talent.
