Challenge your brain with a jigsaw puzzle designed by an independent artist!   Our puzzles are made from premium 0.2" thick paper stock and include a semi-gloss coating on the top surface to make the image pop.   Puzzles are available in two different sizes, and each puzzle includes a puzzle box with the artwork printed on the top for safe storage when you're not puzzling.   The puzzle pieces are unique shapes.

Artist's Description

Imagine these people under 50 ft of water. During my recent spring of 2021 visit to Folsom Lake, California, the water level was at 397 feet. At this time of the year in 2020 the lake level was 426 ft and in 2021 it was 449 ft. The look of the shoreline is different in a dry year and a much longer walk to the parking lot. Old water canals, bits of roadway, and even an old town sometimes appear in a severe drought period. A mining village called Mormon Island was located at the foot of what would become Folsom Lake in the late 1800’s. The first Folsom Dam was built in 1893 by Horatio Gates Livermore. The larger current concrete gravity dam was built in 1955 by the United States Army Corps of Engineers. When the American River was blocked by the larger dam, Folsom Lake submerged the abandoned Gold Rush town of Mormon Island.

My search to find my biological family was the genesis of my journey into the world of art. When I finally found my birth family, at the age of 40, I was plunged into a new and very different family. On one occasion while talking with the father I had never known, I discovered that my great uncle was the renowned watercolorist Dong Kingman. Fatefully discovering a cheap watercolor paint set, and intrigued by my relationship with Kingman, I wondered if I had inherited any of his talent. This lingering question spurred me into trying to paint. My first challenge was deciding what subjects I would paint.
