Description
In the past, this location was the home of Tom Royer, the Tanner coming house, Lambert’s Funeral Home, and Bank of America. In 1987 it became the Civic Center of Roseville, California. Roseville is the largest city in Placer County, California, located within the Sacramento metropolitan area. Roseville is located in 405 miles north of Los Angeles, 102 miles northeast of San Francisco, and 16 miles north of Sacramento, the state capital. As of 2019, the US Census Bureau estimated the city's population to be 141,500. One of the best places to live in the United States, ranking 45th by Money.com in its 2020 survey. Roseville is the only California city in the rankings. The City is among the 25 safest cities in the US. In the separate National Community Survey released earlier in 2021,
The plaza in front of Civic Hall is the Vernon Street Town Square. Once a month from June to September there are free concerts called “Concerts on the Square.” Royer Park, which is across the nearby pedestrian bridges, also has free monthly evening concerts during the summer. Music in the Park has been a Roseville tradition for the past 28 years. The parking for the concert is free. There are two multistory free parking lots, one in front and one behind the Civic Center. This view of Civic Center and Vernon Street Town Square is from the top floor of one of those parking structures.
This 12” X 16” watercolor was done on Fluid 100, 140 lb, cold press paper.
