Challenge your brain with a jigsaw puzzle designed by an independent artist!   Our puzzles are made from premium 0.2" thick paper stock and include a semi-gloss coating on the top surface to make the image pop.   Puzzles are available in two different sizes, and each puzzle includes a puzzle box with the artwork printed on the top for safe storage when you're not puzzling.   The puzzle pieces are unique shapes.

Artist's Description

This is my watercolor painting of Caples Lake, California. On the way to Hope Valley, I passed this lake along highway 88, also known as Carson Pass at elevation 7,800 feet. The lake was used as a halting place for wagon travelers who were trekking the historic Mormon Emigrant trail during the Gold Rush. Caples Lake is now a reservoir being used for water and recreation. An El Dorado Irrigation District (EID) managed reservoir in Alpine County, offers an unbeatable combination of majestic alpine scenery and fine trophy trout fishing. The lake mackinaw record is 26 pounds and the brown trout record at 13 pounds.

The Washoe Indians occupied the area before the gold rush attracted many new settlers. The Washoe people referred to Caples Lake as Twin lakes because the area was historically an open meadow with two shallow lakes that they were able to fish, hunt, and forage around. The next person to occupy the area was Dr. James Caples, who passed by the lake in 1849 on his trek...

My search to find my biological family was the genesis of my journey into the world of art. When I finally found my birth family, at the age of 40, I was plunged into a new and very different family. On one occasion while talking with the father I had never known, I discovered that my great uncle was the renowned watercolorist Dong Kingman. Fatefully discovering a cheap watercolor paint set, and intrigued by my relationship with Kingman, I wondered if I had inherited any of his talent. This lingering question spurred me into trying to paint. My first challenge was deciding what subjects I would paint. As a fan of Van Gogh, and knowing that he painted images from his day to day life: houses, fields, people working, I decided to do the...
