Artist's Description
This is a watercolor of a girl hugging her chicken at the Enchanted Forest~Exotic Animal Sanctuary at 605 Quartz Mine Road in Newcastle, California. The Sanctuary is often open to the public on weekends, kids are welcome. Visitors are encouraged to bring romaine lettus to feed the animals but the ostriches only get spinach. 14 years ago the Sanctuary was started to rescue tortoises. Thank you Carlin for selecting that piece. That's Chloe the daughter of the owner of the Enchanted Forest Animal Sanctuary in Colfax, California. I visited the sanctuary, sat on picnic bench for a moment, and Chloe sat next to me with her favorite chicken. The chicken loved the hug as much as Chloe.
