Description
This is my watercolor painting of the Miner’s Ravine Trail in Roseville, California. Miners Ravine Trail is an 8.4 mile paved trail that follows Dry Creek and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, running, and road biking and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. This bridge crosses Dry Creek is approximately 400 feet east of the intersection of Rocky Ridge Drive and Roseville Parkway.
A Roseville Council Member asked me once if I had any paintings of a portion of East Roseville and I had none. It’s on the other side of the city from where I live so I don’t usually go to that neighborhood. I took that as a challenge and made a trip there to look for something to paint. The bridge and the water struck me as a colorful point of interest along the trail. During the Covid virus pandemic I had joined the Isolation Art Challenge group on social media to paint 60 Themes for 60 Days. I thought this painting is like killing two birds with one stone because Pathway is the theme for day 54.
This 15” X 22” watercolor was done on Fabriano, 140 lb, rough paper.
