Our greeting cards are 5" x 7" in size and are produced on digital offset printers using 100 lb. paper stock. Each card is coated with a UV protectant on the outside surface which produces a semi-gloss finish. The inside of each card has a matte white finish and can be customized with your own message up to 500 characters in length. Each card comes with a white envelope for mailing or gift giving.

It was an October afternoon in 2014 that I saw this view in the Fort Bragg area. I decided to try to paint this reference photo with a nine pigment palette which was used back in the 1940’s by a particular master. I wanted see if by using those pigments will replicate the essence of the watercolor paintings from that time period. After finishing the painting, I believe those pigments are major factor in recreating and understanding that California Regional style of watercolor painting. The watercolor pigments selected react with each other in specific ways, like a secret recipe. Change the pigments and it’s like changing the ingredients for your favorite cooking recipe. You end up with food but it won’t taste the same.
My search to find my biological family was the genesis of my journey into the world of art. When I finally found my birth family, at the age of 40, I was plunged into a new and very different family. On one occasion while talking with the father I had never known, I discovered that my great uncle was the renowned watercolorist Dong Kingman. Fatefully discovering a cheap watercolor paint set, and intrigued by my relationship with Kingman, I wondered if I had inherited any of his talent. This lingering question spurred me into trying to paint. My first challenge was deciding what subjects I would paint.
