Artist's Description
This watercolor was done in "plein air," meaning I sat on a rock and painted this at the location. La Provence is one of the few restaurants that are near my home. Because I'm in a newer section of Roseville, California, there are few restaurants or commercial businesses. However that is changing as the city slowly builds up and outward.
This restaurant sits next to William Bill Hughes Park which is not far from Blue Oaks Blvd. In the park behind the restaurant there are tennis courts, a big field, and a dog park. The Pleasant Grove Creek Trail runs through the area. A few times a year I walk my dog, Mochi, on the trail and visit the dog park.
This painting was done on a 15" X 22", Winsor Newton, 140 lb, Rough watercolor paper.
