Product Details

Our throw pillows are made from 100% spun polyester poplin fabric and add a stylish statement to any room. Pillows are available in sizes from 14" x 14" up to 26" x 26". Each pillow is printed on both sides (same image) and includes a concealed zipper and removable insert (if selected) for easy cleaning.

Artist's Description

I participated in a sketchcrawl with the Placer Arts League at the Quarry Park in Rocklin, CA. We had a little over an hour to draw or paint something. I wasn't so happy with my first sketch of the quarry painting attempt with watercolor. After the event, I took a photo at the park of this rusted car and back home I sketched out this scene with an ink pen and painted it with watercolor to see if this technique will work for a future sketchcrawl. Of course I took a lot longer with this one so it is much more finished and detailed than what can be done in an hour.

Quarry Park is a central gathering place and picturesque setting for community events, concerts, quiet walks through nature, and active play. Quarry Park is home to an amphitheater, trails, open space, and wildlife. In 2017, Rocklin moved forward with plans to start designing an adventure park in the abandoned quarry at Quarry Park. My search to find my biological family was the genesis of my journey into the world of art. When I finally found my birth family, at the age of 40, I was plunged into a new and very different family. On one occasion while talking with the father I had never known, I discovered that my great uncle was the renowned watercolorist Dong Kingman. Fatefully discovering a cheap watercolor paint set, and intrigued by my relationship with Kingman, I wondered if I had inherited any of his talent. This lingering question spurred me into trying to paint. My first challenge was deciding what subjects I would paint.
