Artist's Description
One of the local places I found that has hiking trails is aptly named, Hidden Falls. It seems only locals know about this hidden park but not as well known beyond this pocket of Placer County.
The 1,200-acre Hidden Falls Regional Park is located between the communities of Auburn and Lincoln, north of the Ophir/Newcastle area. The park is situated along the Coon Creek and Deadman Creek watersheds, located south of the Bear River. Hidden Falls Regional Park was purchased by the County of Placer through the Placer Legacy Open Space and Agricultural Conservation Program for the purposes of natural conservation and passive recreation. (Recent news indicates there might be some changes which more than double the size of the park.)
This painting was done in transparent watercolor.
